There are some great applications I can use track my mountain biking and my calories. Sensei is one of those apps—and it’s for all phones, not just smartphones. Robert Schwarzberg, MD, President and CEO of Sensei, says that his company recognized a gap in earlier weight loss apps: they often tracked your progress, but offered little in the way of customized recommendations or personal coaching.
“How do we help you learn what’s healthy?” asks Schwarzberg. “Information alone doesn’t do it. If information were enough, no one would be smoking in the United States. Twenty percent still do. So what could we do to make a difference?”
Sensei came up with a virtual dietitian, which creates a diet that’s a healthier version of what you already like and eat, and gives you the flexibility to change it anytime. The app also launches itself before your meals, so you don’t need the memory or the motivation to log in. Smart program.

That cardiologist doesn’t look like very healthy himself. Maybe he needs to use it himself!
