A “chirpers” follow guide for Twitter

October 15, 2009 | Michael Sean Wright

The recent 140 | The Twitter Conference LA provided excellent networking opportunities for entrepreneurs from around the world.

Brian Wong, CEO of Aer Marketing Inc., based in Vancouver, brought to the Los Angeles conference a new Twitter application the company is developing for novices called followformation.

The application, which is still in beta, according to followformation’s Web site, makes it easier for novices — referred to as “chirpers” on the Web site — to discover people on Twitter by areas of interest.

Wong is just 18 and making a name for himself through lots of energy and by creating tools that make it easier to gain value out of the real-time Web.

In this video with Michael Sean Wright, who handled interviews for building43 at the conference, Wong explains that followformation was a “side project” for Aer, but that it has become so successful that he has been working on it full time.

He also is looking for feedback from people signing up for the followformation beta version.

The two-day Twitter conference organized by The Parnassus Group in Los Angeles put together two dozen panels for discussions focusing on the worlds of business and celebrity and the how-tos of Twitter and its tools for business development.

Wright, the founder of nicefishfilms, is a live documentary filmmaker, writer and tech nut.

Nice segment.  I think this kid has a bright future.  I used Follow Formation and thought it was a great service for novice twitter users.
