Screenjelly: A new, easy way
to share what’s on your screen

October 14, 2009 | Robert Scoble

There’s lots of ways to capture what’s on your screen and share it with others.

Screenjelly has a new, easy, browser-based program to record what’s happening on your screen and record your voice at the same time. That video and audio recording then can be shared with others using Twitter, Facebook and email.

Guillaume Cohen, founder and CEO of Veodia, a Silicon Valley company that produced Screenjelly, discusses how the software application is different and why it can be useful in business.

“Our vision is that we’re creating a new form of communication . . . which is really about capturing visual information and sharing it . . .” easily and quickly, he says.

A major plus for Screenjelly is that a user does not have to download and install the simple-to-use, browser-based software, he says.

New premium features for Screenjelly are expected to be added in coming months.

remember screenjelly and screentoast were once of the same family. get close watch on their trend. I prefer screen recorders which offer editing features like DemoCreator and Camtasia.

Just to be clear, Screenjelly doesn’t upload anything to the cloud until you explicitly tell it to. The recording is all done on the user’s own computer.

I think Screenr is a much better execution of this idea.  Check it out:

I’m not a privacy nut, but its hard to tell when it’s recording. The app is downloaded to my browser but there seems to be no client side controls. The concept it great and I plan to use it, but alittle bit more privacy monitoring would be awesome.
