TechCrunch50 popular winner
YourVersion is interests aggregator

October 6, 2009 | Robert Scoble

The YourVersion real-time discovery engine was one of two dark-horse People’s Choice Award winners picked from the chaotic DemoPit in a vote by the 1,500 people attending the TechCrunch50 2009 September conference in San Francisco.

The boot-strapped program more than two years in development is an aggregating software that lets the user enter general interest terms to search for in blogs, multimedia, news, Twitter and other social media sites, Dan Olsen, YourVersion CEO and founder, says in this video interview shortly after the TechCrunch50 conference.

Olsen walks us through YourVersion’s development process and explains why he thinks his team’s project is a unique Web aggregator that provides new ways for a user to find content in real-time on an on-going basis while filtering the noise of the Web.

“It’s all about personalization and recurring discovery,” he says.

Olsen also shares his secrets of how to succeed in the chaos of the TechCrunch50 DemoPit.
