There are lots of event sites out there competing for what in the short-term may be a shrinking market, acknowledges Josh Fraser, but he argues his company, EventVue, offers a couple of things his competitors don’t.
In this video interview with Robert Scoble at EventVue’s Boulder, Colo., offices, Fraser explains how his company’s convention meeting software helps event planners build communities and attract more people to such events in a tight economy.
EventVue’s registration software offers the opportunity for those attending a conference to create profiles and find out who else plans to attend. With the profiles and Twitter, EventVue makes it easy for those attending the conference to make contact with each other, says Fraser.
The company’s expertise using Twitter and other social networking tools is a plus for event planners, Fraser says.
“The people who put on conferences are event planners, not tech people,” he says, adding “They don’t know what to do with Twitter, and they’ve just finding out about Facebook.”

What an unbelievable #fail. A way to meet other people at conferences? Try Twitter. Geez, they don’t even have a way to build a conference schedule. The reason the product is so hard to sell is because it’s pointless.
Sorry you had problems accessing the site. Feel free to email me at josh@eventvue.com so we can figure out if there’s something wrong on our end.
Great meeting you as well. Thanks for the video!
Was great meeting you, Josh! Thanks for showing us why Boulder is such a great city, too!
As a customer of EventVue for going on 3yrs now, I love the direction the company is going with their services. I can’t wait to see where they’re at in a year.
A local event used this service recently. It sounds great, and had the site ever actually loaded when you followed the links to it I’m sure it would have been very cool.
