Libcloud joins Apache Software Foundation Incubator

November 18, 2009 | Alex Polvi

We are excited to announce that libcloud will be joining the Apache Software Foundation (ASF) Incubator. Libcloud has been very fortunate to grow as a community and as a open source project. We hope that by joining the ASF libcloud will continue to gain momentum. The success of libcloud directly adds to the success of cloud interoperability.

Here are some quick stats about the current state of libcloud:

* First development release on July 23, 2009
* 11 contributors
* 2300 lines of python
* 7 supported hosting providers
* 17 forks, 119 watchers on github

Moving forward we will be moving all code and mailing lists to the incubator.

* Discussion/main list: libcloud@incubator.apache.org
* Commits list: libcloud-commits@incubator.apache.org
* Homepage: http://incubator.apache.org/libcloud/
* You can keep up with our progress as an incubated project here: http://incubator.apache.org/projects/libcloud.html

If you would like to get involved, please sign up for our fresh mailing list by sending an email to libcloud-subscribe@incubator.apache.org. Finally, if you are a provider that is interested in being supported in libcloud please email the list!
